Quick Start

Get Harmonybeam set up and create your first chord progression in just a few minutes.

  1. Download Harmonybeam from your purchase email or customer portal
  2. Drag Harmonybeam.amxd into a MIDI track in Ableton Live
  3. Enter your license key when prompted

Harmonybeam can automatically sync to a MIDI clip on its track. Enable Sync by clicking on the green “Sync” button. The synced clip is labeled with the chords it contains, so it remains identifiable from Live’s clip view.

In the input bar, replace or extend the default progression

Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 Am7

with chords of your choice. Use r if you want to insert a rest between chords. After Sync is enabled, any changes you make are written to the clip automatically.

Add an instrument to the track (or put Harmonybeam before an existing one) and press play. Your progression plays with the rest of your project and Harmonybeam will highlight the current chord being played.
