Quick Start
Get Harmonybeam set up and create your first chord progression in just a few minutes.
1. Install the device
Section titled “1. Install the device”- Download Harmonybeam from your purchase email or customer portal
- Drag
Harmonybeam.amxdinto a MIDI track in Ableton Live - Enter your license key when prompted
2. Automatic MIDI Clip Sync
Section titled “2. Automatic MIDI Clip Sync”Harmonybeam can automatically sync to a MIDI clip on its track. Enable Sync by clicking on the green “Sync” button. The synced clip is labeled with the chords it contains, so it remains identifiable from Live’s clip view.
3. Enter your first progression
Section titled “3. Enter your first progression”In the input bar, replace or extend the default progression
Dm7 G7 Cmaj7 Am7with chords of your choice. Use r if you want to insert a rest between chords. After Sync is enabled, any changes you make are written to the clip automatically.
4. Hear it in context
Section titled “4. Hear it in context”Add an instrument to the track (or put Harmonybeam before an existing one) and press play. Your progression plays with the rest of your project and Harmonybeam will highlight the current chord being played.
